On 11th July KickStart Ghana had a hugely successful fundraising dinner hosted by Zoe’s Ghana Kitchen. The night involved 44 KickStart Ghana supporters enjoying a wonderful three course dinner of Ghanaian food, eaten by hand with banana leaves for plates. KickStart Ghana chair David Thorp shared some of the successes of the charity over the past year and showed two videos highlighting our work.
To finish the night an auction was held with some fantastic prizes donated by friends of the charity. These included tickets to a Tottenham Hotspur match, Bryan Adams tickets, Monty Python Live tickets, a day of being a Tootsie Roller for two, a Twi lesson at the Ghanaian Language School, life coaching lessons and two tickets to a St John’s Session gig, amongst many other prizes. Peter Thorp generously agreed to match fund the first £1,000 raised, making a hug difference to the total.
The end result being that over £3,000 was raised.
KickStart Ghana chair, David Thorp, said, “We’re amazed by the generosity shown by our supporters. The money raised will make a real difference to the young people we work with in Ghana”.
